Thighs lift
This operation is meant to improve the appearance of your thighs, mainly on the internal side, though the whole leg will benefit by it. The blemish of the internal thighs might be caused by excessive weight loss followed or not by weigh gain, which may produce an increase in local tissue laxity. The size of the "container" (the skin) needs to be readapted to the new characteristics of the "content"(adipose tissue and muscular structure). The removal of skin excess allows to render more agreeable the thigh appearance and to recreate more suitable circumferences. It is called "thigh lift" because it is based on stretching upwards that tissue that, having given in, tends to show wrinkles and folds in its lower part often as far as the knee. It is for this reason that, during the operation, the uplifting action is often associated to a wide tissue undermining that will grant a more adequate settlement of the skin at the end of the procedure. The scars left by this operation will easily hidden by underwear and bathing suits. The amount of cutis, subcutis and fat pad to be removed and, consequently, the size of the scars vary from case to case. To get a scar that will only be slightly visible, a lozenge-shaped slip of skin is excised right at thigh root level. How the scars will show depends on the surgeon as much as on the patient, but lies mainly on the starting-conditions and on the tissue elasticity. It can be as fine as a thread or become a little more evident. In some cases it can appear a s a few-millimeter-thick red line. The scar tends to get much lighter within 4-5 months and eventually will hardly be distinguished from the surrounding skin, but the process takes time.
